A Brief Definition of Reconstructionism

In John 18:36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place. The Reconstructionist is guilty of allegorizing scripture; this is when you take a literal meaning or a simple meaning of scripture and transform it into a fable. They also do this with the book of Revelation. The history of this teaching is best described in a book titled “Road to Holocaust” by Hal Lindsey:
“By the time Augustine (A.D.354-425), the famous Bishop of Hippo, Origen’s system of interpretation dominated the Christian scene. (sic) But it was Augustine who systematized the allegorically based teachings into a cohesive theology that would dominate the Church for over a thousand year's.(sic) Even the Reformers continued to hold most of his views, including his allegorically based, unrefined eschatology. The Roman Catholic Church, using Origen’s system of interpretation and Augustine’s theology, soon applied and instituted the teaching that they were the inheritors of Israel’s promised to Israel and therefore must take ultimate authority over the political powers of this world. At one point during the Middle ages, the Church held authority over virtually all the Middle Ages, the Church held authority over virtually all the rulers of Europe. History witnesses that this was one of the most oppressive periods of Christianity, both toward Christians and those outside the Church.” pp 9-10

THE GREENING OF THE CHURCH

In August of 1990, a two week seminar was held called, "The Greening of the Church." This
was an opportunity for Christian denominations of all faiths, protestant and catholic, to join in
on exploring the urgent needs facing the environment and the church. The stated purpose of
course was to explore long standing Christian theology and the "environmental"
responsibilities the church needs to continue living on Planet earth. This conference held
workshops discussing the following:
“The fundamental theological and spiritual issues facing an ecologically sensitive
church;
“The ways on which historic Christian theology may have fostered or condoned
attitudes and values directly contributing to our destruction of the natural world;
(One is left wondering if Christian doctrine is not changed to the new improved version" will
Christians of the old time Gospel be persecuted for ruining their planet?)
"The 'new story' of Gaia or the living earth, its functional cosmology and implications
for Christian theology;
"The emerging creation-centered spirituality and theology...
"The development of interfaith action to foster environmental responsibility...
(Another ecumenical tie.)
"Tools and study resources for individual and church community..."
The second week of this conference was listed as "creating strategies for the greening of the
church." This seminar was sponsored and held at the New Age learning center of Chinook
Core Faculty at Whidbey Island Washington. Matthew Fox, lecturer and author of "The
Coming of the Cosmic Christ" and Fr. Thomas Berry were some of the featured speakers.
Chinook embraces the more hard core New Age types such as David Spangler, and Fritz Hull,
a board member of Chinook.
Still on the surface, most Christians could say this is extreme and most Christians would see
through New Age doctrine. Is it possible that a new theology is being laid at this level and has
already been leaked into the church, with Christian terminology and theology attached? In
Matthew Fox's book "The Coming of the Cosmic Christ", page 228 states "Deep ecumenism is
the movement that will unleash the wisdom of all world religions... The unleashing of wisdom
holds the last hope for the survival of the planet we call home..." On page 7 it offers, "The
coming together of the historical Jesus and the Cosmic Christ will make Christianity whole at
last."
Already there are well funded public interest groups that are publishing their
environmentalists theology, which they termed "ecotheology." This is a fine blend of
Christianity and mysticism. One group is "The North American Coalition on Religion and
Ecology" located in Washington D.C. In their Spring 1995 ECO Letter, they advertise "Ethics
in an Age of Technology," by Ian Barbour's, a set of lectures titled the Gilford Lectures. In the
past these same lectures were delivered by Carl Jung and Reinhold Neibuhr. These were
delivered in Scotland 1990-1991 with the purpose to relate the worlds religion, philosophy and
science. Any Christian who knows Carl Jung's philosophy, which is pure paganism, should
question any conclusion that the environmentalists are making and the scientific data collected
from such sources should be suspect.
NACRE/CORE are collaborating these efforts across the country which they call PEW
GLOBAL Stewardship. This is a pilot project for congregations. One of the other projects is
called Earth Stewardship program for ministers and educators. NACRE has a list of books and
resources you can choose from.
1. Christianity and Ecology
2. Judaism and Ecology
3. Islam and Ecology
4. Hinduism and Ecology
5. Buddhism and Ecology
The environmental concerns and the theology behind it is entering the church under the guise
of "Earth Stewardship".
In the Coalition on Revival Dominionist magazine titled "Crosswinds", Vol. I, No.2, 1992, E.
Calvin Beisner, a member of COR's steering committee as of 1992, writes an eight page
article titled “Environmentalism or Stewardship?"
In it he states,
“Environmentalists want to reduce human population and preserve nature untouched
by human hands. It ignores the effects of God's curse on the earth and man's call, as
God's steward to reverse those effects..."
"So it is with man's stewardship of the earth God calls us to restore it from the curse,
to multiply its resources…"
We are to transform the earth into a garden not an inner city slum. I am predicting
great material wealth for the vast majority of mankind everywhere..."
If we redistribute land to everyone, redistribute wealth, take dominion over the planet, return
the world to the garden of Eden, then why believe in the Rapture, or Christ's return? In fact
this would also mean Satan has his lost power. In fact we are now Co-Creators with Christ!
From what I can tell from the article, it implies we are to then redistribute property out of
government control into private sectors and individuals to hold private property rights, so they
can enforce their Mosaic laws.
Beisner insists the term environment comes from the French word meaning to turn around and
is not limited to nature, but to business', houses, cars, health care, etc.
That is fine for the French! The question is it Biblical? The Reconstructionists and
Dominionists can disagree with the Environmentalist Humanist agenda, but the New Agers are
not Humanist. They are very spiritual and have a dominion mandate as well. The humanist
agenda argument is a straw dog that has been set up by the Dominionist to create the
appearance of separation between themselves and the new age movement as a whole.
Dennis Peacock, a Coalition on Revival member, has clearly stated this in his July 1988, Vol.l,
No.1 newsletter called EQUITY,
"Coalition building has become an integral tool of Public Policy influence to an
increasingly threatened Christian minority in America. Better known as a tactic of 'So-
Called' leftists, it might seem strange that evangelical Christians would resort to a
practice that seems so associated with those who apparently oppose biblical
principles.
“'Coalition' is most often understood as the ability of a number of diverse interest
groups, often with very little common interest, to unite around a specific objective,
even if under other circumstances they might be at enmity with one another..."
Amos 3:3 "can two walk together except they agree. "
Peacock continues:
“An inherent danger of coalition-building is to see it as an end in itself. It is an
important but limited tool which allows Christians and God-fearers of very diverse
traditions to fellowship in the trenches of this spiritual war. The irony of having gone
through real warfare together is that you may have more in common with these fellow
warriors than with members of your own tradition."
Alvin Toller's book "Power Shift, has a whole section on Eco-theocracy:
“Across the world, meanwhile a green tide is gathering momentum too. This movement for
ecological sanity is essential - a positive example of ordinary people around the world leading
their leaders... This group reduces the history of our relations with nature to biblical
allegory...Now we must transit to a new 'paradise' of perfect sustainability and harmony. If not
we face armageddon."
Rudolf Bahro, an influential Green theorist now living in West Germany, explicitly holds that
what is needed is "theology, not ecology - the birth of a new Golden Age which cultivates...the
nobility of man." He reaches back into the 13th century to quote Meister Eckhart, the founder
of German mysticism.
The fact remains what is needed is a return to the simple Gospel and Love and respect for
Jesus Christ. We are waiting for the Lord to transform us. He will again make all things new.
We will never accomplish what only he can and will do. He does not need our help. He
created this world without us. He will transform it and make it again the same way without the
co-creators doctrinal manuals.

Fiction or Infraction Don't Trip!

I wanted to bring to the attention a book gaining in popularity among Christendom called  "The Harbinger the Ancient Mystery that Holds The Secret of America's Future"  By Jonanthan Cahn. There is much controversy over this book for good reason. The book is put out as fiction but if you go to the page before the table of contents it reads "What you are about to read is presented in the form of a story, but what is contained within the story is real. As I read the book I became upset because I have heard this same lie promoted in Dominion circles. "The Church is Israel and has inherited her promises because God has forsaken her due to her rebellion". As I read the book I was appalled at the misapplication of scripture; however, I am even more appalled at the people we have followed over the years as solid researchers that are  attacking those who disagree with the book. America is not Israel, and God never breaks a promise. What the Dominionist are doing is replacing Israel with the church. Shame on them! In the back of the book it recommends freenewsletters.charismamag.com  These are the same people that brought us the Dominion latter rain doctrines. So, I will direct my blog followers to the theological experts that have carefully reviewed the book in a fair manner.

Whose Kingdom Is It Anyway?

The coalition on Revival has been around since the 1980's. It originally was formed by Jay Grimstead. Jay Grimstead had worked with a group  called "Young Life" for twenty years  a missionary group ministering to youth. Grimstead saw that the young people were getting very secular and questioning  the inerrancy  of the bible. It is out of that concern back in the late 1970's that he decided to seek out what he calls theological scholars like R. C. Sproul , J.I Packer, Harold Lindsell, Norm Geisler* (see footnote) to name a few to defend the inerrancy of the Bible. Jay decided to have a conference inviting these men and 60 others from around the country to gather and brainstorm how they might bring correction to the liberal and secular ideas being propagated  as truth in the  colleges and seminaries. So, they created what was called the 42 articles on christian inerrancy of the bible . This organization became known as ICBI (International council on Bible Inerrancy) with 112 men from different denominations. However, they found out not everyone from these different denominations got along. They had a plan for that "leave out eschatology" and agree to disagree for the bigger plan ahead. These articles on inarrancy  were based on how we apply the law  (mosaic law) to every area of life. They believed that God had given them a mandate to take dominion over the Earth according to Genesis 1:28 which they believe includes everything from politics to human beings. They loose the context because the Lord asked  Adam to take dominion over the  animals he did not mean humans or politics!  They want a political theocracy which they call God's mandate  bringing heaven to earth. This theocracy would bring back  the old mosaic law of rule and order. To accomplish  this they got together with groups of leaders from around the country and wrote what is called the Manifesto for the christian church, and Jay Grimstead  created Coalition on Revival. They created a series of documents outlining this christian worldview in seventeen areas. For example

Feel free to read them especially on "Unity". On the upfront sounds good until  you line it up with scripture.
Back in 1987 I was invited to a COR meeting because of my interest in Education. I was trying to set up a home school group in our church and ran into a man that was a member of COR's Steering committee for Education.I met with him for lunch and he kept telling me "we have to win the battle over the public schools". I agreed it sounded great! A man after my own heart; however, a word kept coming up I had never heard in the context for which he used it. He kept saying "Lynn we have to take "dominion" over this, God has mandated us to do it." I knew about the animals, but schools, people what about free will I thought. Later he called me, and I was invited to what was called the "Orange County Round Table." They were meetings  with on fire community leaders and shakers. I guess I qualified because of my upset over the propaganda in our public schools. Anyway, they were showing a  film "The Winnable war" I was interested, so I accepted the offer.
The meetings went on for several weeks and I began to see there was a serious problem with this group that really expanded across the United states and abroad. How was I going to expose the "Dominionist agenda and their "mandate"? I was no one, a small fish with no title, a small time researcher of the New Age movement who peddled research material to writers and speakers just to get it out there.  I needed to collect information to go tell  my fellow researchers, pastor's and friends about  the plans they were revealing. There was a clear political and theological agenda to bring in a theocratic government. I felt compelled to scream it from the housetops to beware. The Lord provided the perfect saints and brought people into my life that was compelling to say the least. These brothers and sisters encouraged me, and taught me along the way so that I could understand the deep theological non-sense being propagated as truth. The Lord is good because I really needed the help to discern what  they were doing chopping up the bible verses.  I asked a good friend who took minutes for her city council meetings to join me in these meetings at the Orange County Roundtable. She agreed as she wanted to understand what was going on as well. I needed to ask one of the cor leaders if she could come  and sit in with us they were o.k with it "if I knew her."
As the weeks progressed we became more and more shocked because of what we heard.
Dennis Peacock was a featured speaker nightly, he is on the cor steering committee. He made fun of Hal Lindsey's  book "The Late Great Planet Earth" because it spoke on the Rapture and the coming of Jesus that was near. It was everything they hated. They believe Hal Lindsey had a  defeatist attitude. One night Dennis Peacock got a chair and was pretending to step up on it demonstrating how ridiculous the rapture "Lie" is. He called it an escapist attitude. He said we needed to take dominion over the earth and that God told us to go "Make" disciples of all men. This was sounding like Nazi Germany all over again! Make people believe or What? The word  (make) in the Greek is  poleo to bring forth. Matthew 28:19-20
I want to add that the Dominionist do have varying beliefs about the rapture of the church. Some believe the wicked will be raptured and some believe there will only be a rapture when we fulfill God's mandate. However many believe there is no rapture of the church. His mandate they believe is their mandate  to make disciples and build the kingdom on earth. However, they all will compromise with other religions  building this theocratic kingdom on earth.
At the meeting they said that the rapture of the church was occultic and came from pagan sources. So, under their theocratic rule or "New Covenant" would I get the death penalty for believing in the Rapture. I guess I will.
We need to be seriously looking at what these people are saying and believing.
I want to quote from Dennis Peacock "Winning the Battle for the Minds of Men" "Christians should go out into the world and do far more than simply evangelize: they should be prepared to rule. It is their destiny." page 147) Again he says on page 61 "Whoever sets the civil laws rules the nations, this is why Christ told Christians in the Great Commission to be the ones who set them."
I would like to remind the Dominionist  and the Reconstructionist it is God's Kingdom. As Jesus said to Peter " ...I will build my church and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18 Notice Jesus Himself builds the church.
I want to add in the 1990's cor created updates to the documents for the social plan. www.churchcouncil.org

My next Blog: I will deal with the people with the "footnotes"  who wrote the books that the Dominionist read. Many of today's seminaries are following the agendas of the"Reconstructionist". These are your intellectuals and writers who have set the foundation for the Dominionist   troops that are joining together to bring this "Kingdom on Earth".

* = Norman Geisler was not on the Steering committee of the Coalition Revival, even though he was part of the ICBI.

The Domionist/Latter Rain Connection

I want to start off saying that we did not mention anything concerning the charismatic kingdom now/Latter rain movement. This movement clothes itself in Dominion theology they believe that the kingdom began in 70 A.D. with the destruction of the Nation  Israel.  These Dominionist  kingdom now/latter rain believe "God"  speaks new revelations to them through dreams, visions and extra so called biblical revelations; However, their visions on how to conquer this nation changes often with each new revelation. Their doctrine is more self based than Bible based. It really is determined by the latest pop leader people are following within the charismatic or apostolic realm. A common theme within these groups is the word "New". God is doing a "new thing," "New Breed", a "New reformation", a "new Change" is coming. In other words the Bible is not adhered to but the visions and dreams, along with someone hearing a voices from God through what they call the "Holy Spirit anointing"
The MFI or Ministers Fellowship International is an important player of the Latter rain/domionist movement. The MIF came out of Portland Bible College in Oregon. I use to live in Portland and we had a very difficult time avoiding the latter rain churches.  Dick Iverson a TBN ( Trinity Broadcasting Network) darling for many years wrote "Present Day Truths" a book that was actually created by the Bible College used as a sort of text Book for the movement. However, between  1947 and 1957 huge revivals took place many of them led by pentecostal leader Oral Roberts founder of Oral Roberts University. Roberts was another TBN favorite this revival was centered on Healing and the Manifestation of  what they called the "Holy Spirit". During this time Roberts put great emphasis on healing . It is said by many that Oral Roberts brought the pentecostal movement into acceptable mainstream Christianity. This opened the floodgates for many false teachers to rise up claiming they hear from God, and have the power to do the works of Jesus even raising the dead. Many of these apostate leaders have now began to set dates for the end of the world.  Back in the 80's on National television Oral Roberts asked for $8 million or God would kill him. He did pass away in 2009. I have only scratched the surface of this heresy so please visit the other web site such as herescope for more information on this subject. Type in Latter rain on their search site.

Greg Laurie's Harvest America: Royal Route To Heaven, Rick Warren & The Message

A great article by "SAID Radio":

As saddening as it may come to some, we are strongly encouraging our audience of readers to not partake or invite your friends to Greg Laurie's "Harvest America". I have no problem acknowledging that I've heard him preach an unwatered Gospel message (dealing with sin, repentance, Christ crucified buried and rising again and His return.). This might have many of you wondering then: Why discourage the participation? What may come as a surprise to some readers is the fact that Greg Laurie is planning on speaking at a conference with these guys:

From left to right (Row 1): Rick Warren, Greg Laurie, Lecrae, Nick Vujicic
(Row 2) Miles McPherson, James Macdonald, Craig Groeschel and Mark Driscoll

A man like Greg Laurie who is well known (Harvest America boasts it will reach 5 million people)  is encouraging many people to tune in to hear the Gospel for "Harvest America" and will then in a month and a half  introduce some possible new believers and many of his already followers to the likes of these men to help them with spiritual growth:

Rick Warren: For extensive information on our concerns with Rick Warren please visit these sites:

Lecrae - Many Christians enjoy his Christian rap but unfortunately he has found himself taking part in some very dangerous practices : http://apprising.org/2012/01/09/on-john-piper-and-lectio-divina/

I don't know about you but anybody who seriously reads through any of these links will see the errors of these individuals. I strongly encourage you to pray for them and those they are leading that they will repent and not lead these people astray. Pray that Greg Laurie will turn from these things. As of this point and time I cannot encourage people- no matter saved or unsaved- to take part in an event with someone willing to compromise and lead God's precious sheep to a pack of wolves.

Here are a few other concerns I had about Greg Laurie's mens study group:

Found in the Harvest Men's study "The Royal Route to Heaven"
in "Studies in 1 Corinthians and Ephesians
INDUCTIVE LESSON EIGHTEEN
Ephesians 2"

There is a quote and a recommendation for Rick Warren's book "The Purpose Driven Life" found on this PDF, here's the recommendation:
Step 4: For Further Study: If you found this study truly engaging or convicting and want to
read further on the issues covered in the reading a suggested book is: The Purpose Driven
Life by Rick Warren Zondervan Publishers Grand Rapids, Michigan 2002
(http://www.harvest.org/church/ministries/valor.html#lessons)

As with every single one of these studies found on the Harvest website, they list "The Message" as being a "thought-for-thought" translation.

There are a number of errors found within the pages of "The Message" with heavy new age overtones and yet so many seminaries present it as a legitimate "thought for thought" translation. This is what Eugene Peterson said about "The Message" from a Christianity Today quote from October 10, 2009
"When I'm in a congregation where somebody uses [The Message] in the Scripture reading, it makes me a little uneasy. I would never recommend it be used as saying, "Hear the Word of God from The Message." But it surprises me how many do."

I've heard Greg Laurie quote from "The Message" even though I personally heard him only state that he was reading from a "modern translation". This is still very dangerous, understand the issues with "The Message":
- http://www.mountainstreampress.org/tag/the-message/

We will chime in on the concerns with the Resurgence on a podcast prior to the event. Once again I strongly encourage you the reader to please be discerning and consider the side-effects / dangers of encouraging people to take part in "Harvest America" unfortunately in light of where Greg Laurie is headed.

Beware of Mind Up

Goldie Hawn of the Hawn foundation.org (http://www.thehawnfoundation.org/ ) has unleashed a new curriculum called Mind Up. The curriculum has a long list of teachers, Ph.D.s, and a neuroscientist who have been working with her to promote a practice in the classroom that will calm the students. On Nightline (viewed 9/27/2011) Goldie Hawn said that “many children are depressed and do not have the skills to calm themselves down therefore this increases bullying and aggressive behavior.” She also claimed one out of three children are on medication. So they designed a curriculum from K-12 that teaches metaphysics and mind altering techniques as a solution to the problem.

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

In fact, one child experienced bullying, and when he tried to explain the other child’s behavior to his mother, the reason given was that “…the boy did not use his pre-frontal cortex to make good decisions and he often acted that way because of his amygdala. His mom was amazed.”

Hawn claims that there has been a 30-50% improvement in children’s behavior since they have instituted this Mind Up program in the schools. On their website they claim 82% become more optimistic. The website also claims 100% of teachers thought Mind Up positively influenced the students. Hawn claims that “this is science” and says that she has been involved in the research of the brain for over ten years. However, in fact, it is not science but religion which is packaged in eastern metaphysics— from guided imagery, visualization, meditation, and connecting with the earth, and using the chime (a bell) as a way to get them re-focused.

There are two front scientific advisory council members. One is Amishi Jha PhD who is one of the featured teachers at the Upaya Institute Zen center. Then there is the second member of the board, Kimberly Schonert Reichl, and she is a featured speaker with the Dalai Lama Center.

What makes this so dangerous is the fact they are teaching the kids “neuroscience” as a reason to the why they need Buddhism in their life. This removes the “religious” aspect and places religion in the scientific mold. The Mind Up program has already been launched throughout many schools, the Boy’s and Girls Clubs, and the YMCA (such as Akron Ohio) according to the Foundation’s website. According to the Mindbody green website http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-410/Goldie-Hawn-to-Set-Up-Meditation-School-in-UK.html the curriculum Mind Up

…is already used in over 1,000 schools in the U.S. and Canada and aims to improve concentration and incorporates eastern meditation. The curriculum is designed for children from K to 7 and includes fifteen lessons across four units which include titles such as "Quieting the Mind: Sharpening the Focus" and "Mindful of Ourselves in the World."

Scholastic is one of the main distributors of the curriculum. This program will only spread like wildfire. I suggest that as a parent you attend school boards and suggest to them that religion has been re-packaged under the name of “science,” and “Buddhism” is what is being taught. Let them know as a parent and a Christian you will not just stand by but will remove your child from its influence.

Mama Said Don't Eat That Soup

Mama Said Don't Eat That Soup

"Chicken Soup For The Soul" by Jack Canfield the self esteem guru that presented the curriculum to the public schools has a new team helping him ."The Golden Motorcycle Gang" is more or less directing him to bring "Heaven on Earth" (page 176). On page 171 he writes " He completed his daily practice of light yoga exercises, followed by a brief meditation... His meditation that morning brought him into a deep trance like state...He found himself looking into the sky, and saw an incredible diamond  motorcycle rider racing toward him. ..two more...three more ...seven behind those five. The sequence continued, almost like a flock of geese revving their engines and flying towards  him... There must have been thousands of them filling the sky...Suddenly a female...The first words out her mouth were: "Thank you, Jack."..."Thank me for what?" "Why , for holding the space for the Diamond Motorcycle Gang to get ready for the next level of human evolution, of course...This female rider goes on to tell Jack that he had become something of a legend back at the academy of Enlightenment. Our teachers have been following your progress ever since you decided to incarnate as a human being."..She continues "Your Chicken soup series has warmed and nourished the souls of millions of people"...
This book "Chicken Soup For The Soul" series has sold millions and gives us an idea how sidetracked and deceived our society is. But that is not all, this book is sold in many Christian book stores as well. We think if it is marketed as a "Christian store" it must be o.k. The term Christian is a selling label for Music, books, and sadly many churches. Jack Canfield has also teamed up with Barbara Marx Hubbard a hardliner and leader in the New Age Movement. For more info on that please go to Herescope blog and search Barbara Marx Hubbard.
