Fiction or Infraction Don't Trip!

I wanted to bring to the attention a book gaining in popularity among Christendom called  "The Harbinger the Ancient Mystery that Holds The Secret of America's Future"  By Jonanthan Cahn. There is much controversy over this book for good reason. The book is put out as fiction but if you go to the page before the table of contents it reads "What you are about to read is presented in the form of a story, but what is contained within the story is real. As I read the book I became upset because I have heard this same lie promoted in Dominion circles. "The Church is Israel and has inherited her promises because God has forsaken her due to her rebellion". As I read the book I was appalled at the misapplication of scripture; however, I am even more appalled at the people we have followed over the years as solid researchers that are  attacking those who disagree with the book. America is not Israel, and God never breaks a promise. What the Dominionist are doing is replacing Israel with the church. Shame on them! In the back of the book it recommends freenewsletters.charismamag.com  These are the same people that brought us the Dominion latter rain doctrines. So, I will direct my blog followers to the theological experts that have carefully reviewed the book in a fair manner.

Whose Kingdom Is It Anyway?

The coalition on Revival has been around since the 1980's. It originally was formed by Jay Grimstead. Jay Grimstead had worked with a group  called "Young Life" for twenty years  a missionary group ministering to youth. Grimstead saw that the young people were getting very secular and questioning  the inerrancy  of the bible. It is out of that concern back in the late 1970's that he decided to seek out what he calls theological scholars like R. C. Sproul , J.I Packer, Harold Lindsell, Norm Geisler* (see footnote) to name a few to defend the inerrancy of the Bible. Jay decided to have a conference inviting these men and 60 others from around the country to gather and brainstorm how they might bring correction to the liberal and secular ideas being propagated  as truth in the  colleges and seminaries. So, they created what was called the 42 articles on christian inerrancy of the bible . This organization became known as ICBI (International council on Bible Inerrancy) with 112 men from different denominations. However, they found out not everyone from these different denominations got along. They had a plan for that "leave out eschatology" and agree to disagree for the bigger plan ahead. These articles on inarrancy  were based on how we apply the law  (mosaic law) to every area of life. They believed that God had given them a mandate to take dominion over the Earth according to Genesis 1:28 which they believe includes everything from politics to human beings. They loose the context because the Lord asked  Adam to take dominion over the  animals he did not mean humans or politics!  They want a political theocracy which they call God's mandate  bringing heaven to earth. This theocracy would bring back  the old mosaic law of rule and order. To accomplish  this they got together with groups of leaders from around the country and wrote what is called the Manifesto for the christian church, and Jay Grimstead  created Coalition on Revival. They created a series of documents outlining this christian worldview in seventeen areas. For example

Feel free to read them especially on "Unity". On the upfront sounds good until  you line it up with scripture.
Back in 1987 I was invited to a COR meeting because of my interest in Education. I was trying to set up a home school group in our church and ran into a man that was a member of COR's Steering committee for Education.I met with him for lunch and he kept telling me "we have to win the battle over the public schools". I agreed it sounded great! A man after my own heart; however, a word kept coming up I had never heard in the context for which he used it. He kept saying "Lynn we have to take "dominion" over this, God has mandated us to do it." I knew about the animals, but schools, people what about free will I thought. Later he called me, and I was invited to what was called the "Orange County Round Table." They were meetings  with on fire community leaders and shakers. I guess I qualified because of my upset over the propaganda in our public schools. Anyway, they were showing a  film "The Winnable war" I was interested, so I accepted the offer.
The meetings went on for several weeks and I began to see there was a serious problem with this group that really expanded across the United states and abroad. How was I going to expose the "Dominionist agenda and their "mandate"? I was no one, a small fish with no title, a small time researcher of the New Age movement who peddled research material to writers and speakers just to get it out there.  I needed to collect information to go tell  my fellow researchers, pastor's and friends about  the plans they were revealing. There was a clear political and theological agenda to bring in a theocratic government. I felt compelled to scream it from the housetops to beware. The Lord provided the perfect saints and brought people into my life that was compelling to say the least. These brothers and sisters encouraged me, and taught me along the way so that I could understand the deep theological non-sense being propagated as truth. The Lord is good because I really needed the help to discern what  they were doing chopping up the bible verses.  I asked a good friend who took minutes for her city council meetings to join me in these meetings at the Orange County Roundtable. She agreed as she wanted to understand what was going on as well. I needed to ask one of the cor leaders if she could come  and sit in with us they were o.k with it "if I knew her."
As the weeks progressed we became more and more shocked because of what we heard.
Dennis Peacock was a featured speaker nightly, he is on the cor steering committee. He made fun of Hal Lindsey's  book "The Late Great Planet Earth" because it spoke on the Rapture and the coming of Jesus that was near. It was everything they hated. They believe Hal Lindsey had a  defeatist attitude. One night Dennis Peacock got a chair and was pretending to step up on it demonstrating how ridiculous the rapture "Lie" is. He called it an escapist attitude. He said we needed to take dominion over the earth and that God told us to go "Make" disciples of all men. This was sounding like Nazi Germany all over again! Make people believe or What? The word  (make) in the Greek is  poleo to bring forth. Matthew 28:19-20
I want to add that the Dominionist do have varying beliefs about the rapture of the church. Some believe the wicked will be raptured and some believe there will only be a rapture when we fulfill God's mandate. However many believe there is no rapture of the church. His mandate they believe is their mandate  to make disciples and build the kingdom on earth. However, they all will compromise with other religions  building this theocratic kingdom on earth.
At the meeting they said that the rapture of the church was occultic and came from pagan sources. So, under their theocratic rule or "New Covenant" would I get the death penalty for believing in the Rapture. I guess I will.
We need to be seriously looking at what these people are saying and believing.
I want to quote from Dennis Peacock "Winning the Battle for the Minds of Men" "Christians should go out into the world and do far more than simply evangelize: they should be prepared to rule. It is their destiny." page 147) Again he says on page 61 "Whoever sets the civil laws rules the nations, this is why Christ told Christians in the Great Commission to be the ones who set them."
I would like to remind the Dominionist  and the Reconstructionist it is God's Kingdom. As Jesus said to Peter " ...I will build my church and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18 Notice Jesus Himself builds the church.
I want to add in the 1990's cor created updates to the documents for the social plan. www.churchcouncil.org

My next Blog: I will deal with the people with the "footnotes"  who wrote the books that the Dominionist read. Many of today's seminaries are following the agendas of the"Reconstructionist". These are your intellectuals and writers who have set the foundation for the Dominionist   troops that are joining together to bring this "Kingdom on Earth".

* = Norman Geisler was not on the Steering committee of the Coalition Revival, even though he was part of the ICBI.

The Domionist/Latter Rain Connection

I want to start off saying that we did not mention anything concerning the charismatic kingdom now/Latter rain movement. This movement clothes itself in Dominion theology they believe that the kingdom began in 70 A.D. with the destruction of the Nation  Israel.  These Dominionist  kingdom now/latter rain believe "God"  speaks new revelations to them through dreams, visions and extra so called biblical revelations; However, their visions on how to conquer this nation changes often with each new revelation. Their doctrine is more self based than Bible based. It really is determined by the latest pop leader people are following within the charismatic or apostolic realm. A common theme within these groups is the word "New". God is doing a "new thing," "New Breed", a "New reformation", a "new Change" is coming. In other words the Bible is not adhered to but the visions and dreams, along with someone hearing a voices from God through what they call the "Holy Spirit anointing"
The MFI or Ministers Fellowship International is an important player of the Latter rain/domionist movement. The MIF came out of Portland Bible College in Oregon. I use to live in Portland and we had a very difficult time avoiding the latter rain churches.  Dick Iverson a TBN ( Trinity Broadcasting Network) darling for many years wrote "Present Day Truths" a book that was actually created by the Bible College used as a sort of text Book for the movement. However, between  1947 and 1957 huge revivals took place many of them led by pentecostal leader Oral Roberts founder of Oral Roberts University. Roberts was another TBN favorite this revival was centered on Healing and the Manifestation of  what they called the "Holy Spirit". During this time Roberts put great emphasis on healing . It is said by many that Oral Roberts brought the pentecostal movement into acceptable mainstream Christianity. This opened the floodgates for many false teachers to rise up claiming they hear from God, and have the power to do the works of Jesus even raising the dead. Many of these apostate leaders have now began to set dates for the end of the world.  Back in the 80's on National television Oral Roberts asked for $8 million or God would kill him. He did pass away in 2009. I have only scratched the surface of this heresy so please visit the other web site such as herescope for more information on this subject. Type in Latter rain on their search site.
